The affection of children reflects the seriousness of the problem. Women are noticed to present more frequently than men with both benign and malignant tumors. This probably reflects the socio-economic changes that led women to be working more outdoors; exposed to sunlight to earn money in order to support their families. The increased use of harmful chemical cosmetic compounds without medical advice can be attributed as a cause as well.
