The stories cover many social problems such as corruption, HIV/AIDS, breakdown in family ties, and immorality among several other contemporary themes. The Cat came back, the main story in the anthology revolves around the life of Judoka, and his search for his father, a disgraced politician in an imaginary African country. It opens when Opaya is serving time at a local prison for a crime he did not commit.

Philip Etyang is a Marketing and Communications Officer at Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi. He has wealth of local and especially, international experience in media, and communication as well as university teaching experience. He holds a Master of Arts in Literature. Currently, he is a senior Ph.D. Candidate at Kenyatta University, Kenya.
