"A Perfect Guide to Perfect English Pronunciation" is a librarian's descriptive title to this book, but it is more than that, it is a hundred-plus year old text updated for the MODERN International BUSINESSMAN. "SPEAK English WITHOUT AN ACCENT" is a better title too, because that is what this book teaches. It takes practice, it takes lot of practice. Buy a second copy for a friend and practice on each other. More good advice would be to listen too (watch once, then listen don't look) lots of documentary films from National Film Board of Canada, or Public Broadcasting Service series like NOVA. Check the words to match them with words in this book, and you'll be on the shortcut to fast improvement of clear spoken English. Don't take my word for it, you need English to work in China. A German engineer working in Beijing told me when a dozen dialect accents of Chinese try to plan an engineering project, they all switch to English so everyone understands. This book will sell a million in China.
