Autorenporträt
I am an avid reader and learner. I have written two learning books for children and their parents. The title of the first book is is The Alphabet and Animals. The goal was to make learning the alphabet fun for both the child and the adult. In this second book, I wanted children to have fun learning how to count from 1 to 20. The book also hopes that the adult reading the book and the child being read to will enjoy learning about animal families. I love to teach. I took ceramic lessons as an adult and became a certified Ceramics teacher of Duncan products. I entered University on a full scholarship and earned a diploma in Honors Chemistry. I changed fields, worked in Industry as a computer analyst, eventually becoming Training Officer, teaching others the skills that I had acquired. My love for teaching became greater with each passing year. I wanted to give to others the love that I had and still have for learning. I left Industry and joined Dawson College as a professor in the Computer Science Department. While at the College I acquired a College Teaching Certificate which helped me hone my teaching skills. I co-authored a book which helped simplify the advanced programming course I was teaching. I was awarded the Diploma of Teaching Excellence at Dawson. I became Chair of my Department many times, President of the Teachers Union, and after ending my career, President of the Dawson Teachers Retirees Organization. As a retiree, I volunteered to help teach grade school students how to sew quilts for sick children in a Montreal hospital. I remain active, I bowl, play darts, and have taken my hand to writing learning books for children and their parents. My husband, daughter, her wife, and her children inspire me to continue learning each day with their never-ending quest for knowledge....
