Autorenporträt
Mauri Jane King, author of The Adventures of Pootsey the Wonderbug, introduces us to a tiny, lovable, enthusiastic, and slightly naive beetle in this heartwarming tale of friendship. This children's book is inspired by and adapted from notes Mauri's dad once wrote for her. As a young girl, Mauri sprung out of bed each morning to find a handwritten story by her cereal bowl. The night before, her dad would take a pencil, a small piece of notepad paper, and his imagination, and spend a few moments to craft a short tale of Pootsey the Wonderbug and his adventures around their home. Almost two decades later, upon the birth of her daughter, Mauri decided to revise and develop her dad's sweet and simple stories and bring the pages of Pootsey to life for her family and others to enjoy.

Mauri is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station where she earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science. She also holds a Masters in Theological Studies from Liberty University and a Masters in Public Policy from Baylor University. She lives in central Texas with her husband, Aaron, daughter, Elizabeth, and their loyal rescue dog, Gipper. She is the creator of The American Patriette, a family and hospitality blog.
