The book offers an analysis of tense and aspect in Ateso. It seeks to investigate tense and aspect marking, the distribution of tense and aspect and its correlation with tone. The book also looks at the order of occurrence of tense and aspect in basic sentence structures and assess whether tense and aspect morphological forms can be adequately described by the Checking theory of the Minimalist program. It provides an avenue of comparison of the Nilotic languages which are mutually intelligible with Ateso. It will be useful to linguists studying Eastern Nilotic languages.
