By the 1170s, as a result of royal interest, the Arthurian legends had become enormously popular, both at Court and throughout England, and indeed Christendom. It became fashionable for knights and ladies to emulate the chief characters, whose Chivalric ethic reflected the aristocratic values of the twelfth century." ABOUT THE AUTHOR Margery Hargest Jones is a retired school and music teacher. She is also a folksong collector and arranger who has had several folksong books published which are on the singing examination syllabus of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). The recently published book, 'The Mabinogion and A Tale of Taliesin' by Austin Macauley is also written by her.
