He is also a retired Warrant Officer from the United States Army.In his search for something to do to stay fit, Dexter found his way back to the martial arts. Dexter later found a sparring partner in Jimmy Sherman and they started seeking tournaments. They chose to travel the National Blackbelt League (NBL) circuit. After seven years of being rated 1 and 2 he realized he wanted more and felt there might be others.
