This book analyses the "China Impact" on Taiwan in terms of its social, political and security space from both an empirical and conceptual point of view. It is the first comprehensive account of China's multifaceted impact on the politics and society of contemporary Taiwan. Gunter Schubert is Professor of Greater China Studies at the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies, University of Tübingen, Germany. He is also the founder and Director of the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan at this university.
