TACTICAL CHRISTIANITY: Becoming A Warrior For Christ The Tactical Christianity series deals with the same issues we face in life from a warrior's perspective. Using the same tactical concepts for life that we use in war to overcome and defeat the enemy of God that seeks to destroy us all. In this first book (which includes a devotional at the end of each chapter), 'Becoming a Warrior for Christ' the author looks at the following aspects of warfare and how they pertain to our Christian walk of faith in Christ: FACES OF WAR - Who are the innocent victims? What collateral damage does to those around us? Defining the players in our personal game of life. How we can be part of the solution and not part of the problem. PLANNING FOR WAR - Understanding our surroundings. Preparing our heart and mind. Always ready for battle. THE ENEMY AND HIS TACTICS - How the enemy operates. Who and what does he use to engage us in his deceptive ways? How to overcome his attacks. Victory vs Defeat. OUR ENEMY IS A TERRORIST - Examples of enemy attacks using 'real life' experiences from the battlefield. Comparing the devil to the cowardly actions of Muslim extremists. WEAPONS THAT DESTROY - Understanding and equipping ourselves with the weapons of God that overcome the enemy. FRIENDLY FIRE - How we destroy our own people within the church world. Explanation of friendly fire and its terrible effects using historical facts and experiences. THE ATTACK ON THE FAMILY - Looking at the current attacks of the enemy used to undermine the strength of the family as a unit. How to overcome common pitfalls and problems. THE BATTLE FOR MARRIAGE - This chapter looks at the current state of the marriage covenant. How the world has changed its meaning. God's plan for marriage. How spouses become unwilling enemies. The negative effects of divorce on our lives, our family and our friends. LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND NON-EXISTENCE OF GOD - The best lie of the enemy is making people believe he doesn't exist. By overlooking or denying the work of the devil, our world is walking closer and closer to a chasm of eternal death. Unfortunately, many people who claim to be Christians are following the same path to destruction. This book uses a variety of scriptures to enhance and explain the spiritual warfare that we encounter throughout life. It is meant to encourage, bring greater awareness and motivate others towards positive change.
Autorenporträt
Jerry Peters, Jr. retired in 1999 as a result of injuries sustained in the line of duty as a United States Marshal. He is founder and director of Operation Life Support and Integrity Ministries. Both organizations focus on helping other through the trials of life and crisis events, in addition to encouraging a stronger walk with Christ. Jerry is also an ordained minister and a chaplain. He has held positions as a senior pastor, missionary, evangelist and keynote speaker. His mission is sharing the Gospel of Christ with the lost and encouraging believers to greater obedience to God. His goal is to use his many life experiences to help others understand the mission that God has for their life as they develop the warrior spirit that all believers should exhibit. During his career as a United States Marshal, Jerry was involved in many high threat assignments that included: witness protection, fugitive apprehension, dignitary protection, anti-terrorism, and other mission related duties of his position. During that time, he developed a sense of honor and duty to the United States that still exists today. However, his career also exposed him to an overwhelming view of the despair and hopelessness that exists in every part of our world. Aft er experiencing personal tragedy, God placed a desire in his heart to help others. This has been accomplished by combining his Christian upbringing, spiritual sensitivity, tactical training, and street experience. God has given Jerry a direct and honest approach that is effective in ministering to people and encouraging them to a closer walk with Christ. This approach allows him to share God's message of hope to the hurting and the lost. Just as God has promised, God has taken a tragedy of life and turned it into an opportunity of ministry for the glory of His kingdom. In recent years, Jerry has continued his commitment to our freedoms by working under the U.S. Department of State in support of anti-terrorism programs. These programs help other nations develop the personnel needed to fight this plague of destruction that affects our entire world. As a subject matter expert, Jerry has assisted in the development of programs related to anti-terrorism, counter-narcotics, tactical response (SWAT), border security, and dignitary protection. In addition, he completed three tours in Afghanistan as an embed advisor, providing services through Department of Defense and State Department programs. These positions have allowed him to not only raise the necessary funds to operate the non-profit organization mentioned, but also afford him great opportunity to minister and share the message of Jesus Christ with military personnel and others throughout the world. Jerry views this ministry effort as a mission. It is a mission to win the lost and revive the church. A mission that will result in eternal goals as directed by the will of God no matter what the cost. He has taken his attitude of the warrior spirit and redirected it from serving Country to serving God. He uses the same aggression toward his spiritual enemy that he used against those who were the enemies of the people of the United States of America and the world. Throughout his life, Jerry and his family have endured many tragedies, including the combat disability of their son during the war in Iraq. I
