Geraldo Teodoro Ernesto Mate (o Mufanakuamba Mathe Muzovimgwa) ha conseguito una laurea in Filosofia presso il Seminario Maggiore Santo Agostinho in Mozambico, una laurea in Pedagogia e Psicologia presso l'Università Pedagogica di Maputo (Mozambico) e un dottorato di ricerca presso l'Università Otto-Von-Guericke. Attualmente è professore associato presso l'UP di Maputo.
