But we have prepared the brick by means of spark plasma sintering technique to achieve maximum densification and wear resistance of the sample so that it can resist the aggressive conditions within a high temperature furnace. The sintered sample was characterised and the results obtained were compared to the refractory bricks that are used in the smelting furnaces of HindalCo Industries, Hirakud for the production of molten aluminum.
