Chalcones are ,beta-unsaturated organic compounds having many biological applications including Anti-viral, Anti-fungal and Anti-inflammatory activities. This book emphasis on synthesis of chalcones using Acetophenone and different derivatives of Benzaldehyde by the simple aldol condensation reaction. The confirmation and identification of product was done by comparing Melting Point and by using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.

Shaista Ali has done her MS in Forensic Chemistry and doing doctorate research at GC University Lahore, Pakistan. Focus areas of research is synthesis organic compounds and metal oxide nanoparticles and their applications.
