Benzothiazole derivatives are important in the industry as dyes, photographic chemicals, and sulfa drugs. The family of sulfur-nitrogen heterocycles includes highly stable aromatic compounds that display physicochemical properties with relevance in the design of new materials especially those relating to molecular conductors and magnets. Benzothiazole derivatives are used as Flavoring agents, Dyes in leather industry, Rubber-vulcanizing accelerators, Plant growth regulators, Polymer industry and rubber industry, Antibacterial and antifungal agents. Since benzothiazole derivatives possess diverse biological activity, so, in the present work, we have synthesised benzothiazole derivatives. Antimicrobial activity of the substituted benzothiazoles derivatives were carried out in two parts namely antibacterial and antifungal activities. The antifungal activity of substituted Benzothiazole derivatives were studied in comparison with that of standard antifungal drug by cup-plate method.

Dr. B. P. Nandeshwarappa, Assistenz-Koordinator, DOS in Chemie, Universität Davangere. Er erwarb seinen M.Sc. und seinen Ph.D. an der Kuvempu Universität und machte seinen Post-Doc an der School of International Education Shanghai. Er hat zahlreiche Forschungsarbeiten und acht Bücher veröffentlicht. Er verfügt über 10 Jahre Erfahrung in der Lehre und 3 Jahre in der Industrie.
