In any profession, the analogy of sharks and dolphins swimming in the same waters is a metaphor to describe the challenges of leadership. K.R. Miller has served in the field of education at the secondary, middle, and elementary levels. He has been a superintendent, principal, assistant principal, activities director, coach, teacher, and nationally recognized motivational speaker. His book shares a message of hope, vision, and making dreams a reality. It is rare that an educator has the breadth of experience at all grade levels, uniquely giving the author a true perspective of the whole educational continuum. Every school where he worked became a positive, friendly, spontaneous, and accomplished place. The contagious shift of the environment created endless opportunities for teachers and students to grow, in spite of budget cuts and the difficult task of selecting financial priorities. Working with school teams to generate revenue, and promoting a message of confidence and optimism, represent the highlights of his career. In 2005, he became an advocate for small school districts, speaking to the business community on their behalf, and serving at the state level as a regional representative for the Small School Districts Association. At an early age, he identified education as his true vocation and never departed from that path. It is impossible to include all the stories that occur at schools on a daily basis, so only a sampling of his career dedicated to helping others is presented. First-time author K.R. Miller is now retired and lives in Florida. He grew up fifteen miles from San Francisco, living in a small town called El Cerrito. "Whenever I am near mountains, the fog, and cold weather, fond memories of that childhood arise." Publisher's website: http://sbprabooks.com/KRMiller
