This is a prospective and retrospective study about the deaths due to suicide by hanging in a small town in Brazil. All bodies underwent autopsy examination. Ivan Dieb Miziara, is medical examiner of the Forensic Medicine Institute of São Paulo for 25 years. He is Full Professor of Forensic Medicine and Ethics, Faculty of Medicine of ABC; Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo and he is an expert in death by asphyxiation in Brazil.
