Sugarcane is grown in different soil and water regimes. Being long duration crop it faces various abiotic and biotic stresses. In India, it is prone to water logging due to local cultivable practices. Also sugarcane is planted in low land area where water remains stagnant for longer period. Generally water logging coincides with growth phase of crop. Also excess and untimely rain quite often creates flooding problem making whole field water logged. Yield and quality of cane is adversely affected due to water logging. the yield and quality characters exhibit types of interrelationship among themselves. the presented investigation is an effort to evaluate mean performance of clones under water logging conditions; to determine association between yield and quality parameters; to determine genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance for yield and quality parameters; and to determine direct and indirect effects of various characters on cane yield at phenotypic level.
