Russ Desaulnier is happy to have lived a checkered early life, which he now examines through many of his stories. After marrying his wife Bonnie, he settled into teaching at a Japanese university for almost two decades before retiring to Eugene, Oregon, where they have lived contentedly for the past twenty-three years.
