Autorenporträt
Karen Lynn Umland grew up in Albuquerque, NM and Arcata, CA, an undiagnosed autistic misfit. At age twelve, also struggling with PTSD, multiple TBIs and a condition called alexithymia, she stumbled on the healing power of poetry. Along the way toward adulthood she discovered other creative media, throwing herself into them with everything she had, learning piano, writing half a bad YA novel (with an intriguing premise though!) at age eleven, getting involved in theater, becoming an apprentice woodworker at age nineteen, and finding her way to fine art, some of which adorns this volume. She has also come up with a way to fix many of the things that are broken in our economic system. For more on this please go to www.karenumland.com.
