Urease was the first enzyme to be crystallized and the first shown to require nickel ions. Recent interest in urease has centered on its action as a virulence factor, such as its participation in gastroduodenal infections by H. pylori. First chapter of the book deals with the detailed literature review and is divided into three sections: I-urease, II-protein renaturation and III- Biosensors and Immobilization. Chapter 2 is devoted to urease renaturation and is divided into Section I: Investigations of conditions for urease renaturation and Section II: Mechanism of L-Arginine induced…mehr

Chapter 2 is devoted to urease renaturation and is divided into Section I: Investigations of conditions for urease renaturation and Section II: Mechanism of L-Arginine induced renaturation. Chapter 3 deals with Section I: urease immobilization on Cellulose paper strips for urea estimation and Section II: Improved stability of urease upon coupling to alkylamine and arylamine glass and its analytical use. Chapter 4 deals with a single section on urease biosensor. The preparation and characterization of bifunctional needle-type urea microbiosensors are presented. Last chapter (Chapter 5) deals with urease inhibition and is divided into Section I: Urease inhibition by boric and boronic acids Section II: pH inactivation studies.
