To improve biological control of the disease by production of formulated antagonistic fungi and bacteria, talc based powder and rice bran were added to the antagonistic fungi, Trichoderma viride (No.17), T. harzianum No.19 and F. concolar No.4 while wood flour and talc based powder were added to the antagonistic bacteria ( B. subtilis No. 19, P. fluorescens No. 20 and B. cereus No.24). The antagonistic formulated fungi and bacteria were tested on incidence of cantaloupe root rot disease (Paquito c.v) caused by F. semitectum No.12 and F. solani No. (15) under greenhouse and field conditions.

Prof Nashwa Sallam is currently working as Prof at the University of Assiut, Egypt. Sallam received her PhD 2005 from the University of Assiut, Egypt and JKI institute Darmstadt, Germany. Dr Sallam completed his Masters 1998 from the University of Assiut. She then worked at the Institute of Plant Pathology, Faculty of Agriculture.
