This sutdy showed that paddy weed species have a higher allelopathic compounds as compared rice variety. It is advised to plant breeders to do isertion of gene agent to produce allelochemicals that are not found or content of allelochemicals are low in the paddy rice to biological control of weeds. It is also advised to exploit the huge biomass generated by these luxuriant growing weeds as weedicidal and antimicrobial compounds in sustainable agriculture by local farmers. The results of present investigation will be helpful to researchears, agriculturist and agrobiotechnologist.

I obtained my Ph.D in weed science from Department of botany, Pune University in 2009. I am a faculty member of the Department of plant production, agriculture and natural resources college in Gonbad Kavous University.
