Sie besuchte Indianer in ihren Zelten und den Präsidenten im Weißen Haus, traf sich mit Befürwortern und Gegnern der Sklaverei. Und am Ende erkannte sie, dass zwischen der Art, wie die Farbigen in Amerika und die Frauen in Europa behandelt wurden, nur ein geringer Unterschied bestand.
