The objective of street stormwater drainage design is to warrant efficient and safe traffic movements during the severe storm events. This book is dedicated to the latest developments in: (a) new concepts to analyze the urban catchment hydrology for storm runoff predictions, (b) innovative methods to estimate the street allowable capacities to convey storm runoff, and (c) useful computer models to simulate flow movements in inlets and sewers. • An excellent textbook for senior designs in Civil Engineering • A useful technical book for Public Works and Urban Infrastructure, • Good reviews of…mehr

• An excellent textbook for senior designs in Civil Engineering • A useful technical book for Public Works and Urban Infrastructure, • Good reviews of street hydraulics for Urban Drainage • Revised Rational Method for urban catchment analysis, • New concepts of street flow modeling with consideration of safety, • Improved methods for street inlet sizing and storm sewer designs, and • Efficient computer programming and models for sewer system flow analyses, and • Excel tools using Excel spreadsheets and workbook approaches.
Autorenporträt
James C.Y. Guo received his PhD in Water Resources from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Since 1982, he has been a teaching and research faculty at the University of Colorado Denver, and serves as the Director of the Hydrology and Hydraulics Graduate Program. Dr. Guo is also a registered licensed professional engineer and actively participates in real world design and planning projects. He has over 30 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, water resources, and groundwater modeling. Dr. Guo's approach is to apply the concept of system to the development of hydrologic methods for engineering designs and analyses. He also incorporated these new algorithms into practical design charts, procedures, and computer software models. Many of his publications have been adopted by the urban drainage manuals used in Colorado, Nevada, and California for stormwater designs. Dr. Guo is the author of numerous technical articles, training notes, conference proceedings, and is in demand as a speaker at technical meetings and training seminars in the areas of flood mitigation and stormwater management.
