Richard Baron is a Process & Project Coordinator for Coconino County in Arizona, where he leads the process improvement efforts for the county, and started the Lean Government committee. Previously, he was a consultant for the Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), a nationwide organization providing Lean consultation to manufacturers. He has been involved with manufacturing for most of his career. Richard is an active member of the Alliance for Innovation (www.transformgov.org), Arizona City/County Management Association (ACMA) (www.azmanagement.org), International City/County Management Association (ICMA) (www.icma.org), Arizona Association of Counties (AACO) (www.azcounties.org), National Association of Counties (NACO) (www.naco.org), and National Association of County Administrators (NACA) (www.countyadministrators.org). He has produced and recorded seminars on Lean and Six Sigma, which are available through the Alliance for Innovation at www.transformgov.org. He holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Acuity Institute, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University, a Master's in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a Master's in Business Administration from Arizona State University.
