He has published five books on John Steinbeck; two each on James Thurber and Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel; one each on Ernest Hemingway and Oskar Schindler; and a full biography of John Howard Griffin, author of "Black Like Me." He has also published a variety of other nonfiction titles.
