The present study focus comprehensively the status of colonial waterbirds utilizing the lake for various ecological purposes.

V.Gokula is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, National College. He was awarded a Doctorate from the Salim Ali Centre For Ornithology and Natural History affiliated to Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore for his studies on birds in Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary. He has worked on diverse fauna from birds to mammals.
