My name is Quinci and I am a former teacher (Title I- Elementary for six- years) currently occupied as a Social Worker. I am an artist, a writer, an empath, and now, a published author and illustrator. I grew- up in Salt Lake City, UT. Being a queer, mixed-race Black femme in this state, and this society, in general, has provided me with life experiences that made me realize how important it is that we protect and support individuals in our most vulnerable communities. I created StarSeed to generate excitement and hope, to show that little black and brown kids are intelligent, generous, intuitive, compassionate, and resilient. We are healers. I want for these upcoming souls to know that we already have the tools we need to free ourselves; and that no one else is going to do it for us. I also aimed to provide a space for anyone who has known marginality to feel connected, accepted, and to promote their uniqueness through their own art. I feel like we are living in an exceptionally interesting time, in which we are in desperate need of more unity, empathy, kindness, reason, and basic respect and regard for all living things.
