Field experiment using eleven promising genotypes of lentil were conducted during Rabi, 2011-12 for estimation of stability parameters in respect to grain yield and its components in eight different environments. Analysis of variance revealed that there were significant differences among the genotypes for all characters studied. Genotypes x environments interaction were significant for all characters under study except for 100 seed weight and number of seed per pod. The study of stability parameters in the present investigation revealed that among the environments, the E-1 environment (Kakching, with 20:40:20 NPK Kg/ha, sown on 27th October) was the best for yield and its components. While the E-8 environment (Moirang, with 20:40:20 NPK Kg/ha, sown on 7th November) was the lowest for yield and its components. The better genotypes for phenotypic stability of grain yield and its components was found to be L-830 and it could be recommended for general cultivation over wide environmental conditions in Manipur valley.
