Spilotes pullatus, also known as the Tigre, is a large (up to 3 m) snake found in southern Central America, northern South America and Trinidad and Tobago. It is a non-venomous colubrid that tends to inhabit forested areas. It is arboreal in habit and feeds on a wide variety of prey, including small mammals, birds and lizards. Snakes are elongate, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes that can be distinguished from legless lizards by their lack of eyelids and external ears. Like all squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales.
