"Spain 1914-1918" analyzes the Spanish experience of World War I in terms of the general crisis in Europe. In Spain, as elsewhere, the impact of the war years resulted in ideological militancy, economic dislocation and social struggle. The author examines the slow decay of the Liberal Monarchy, the failure of the neutrality policy, and the challenges to the Administration from national and international forces.
