It specifically dwells on mitigation efforts, building resilience and on the direct effects of climate change on crop productivity and food security. Although, farmers have maintained and produced most of their food needs from local crop land races, they have not been able to classically select hardy plant materials that is suited to the different environment differentials and that vary with climatic conditions. This book also, formally attempts to bring to the reader in a simplified outline packages and techniques that have been scientifically tested and researched. This therefore, offers a window of opportunity for crop improvement, policy and decision makers, agriculturists, agricultural extension officers and young researchers alike.

El Dr. Philip Wani Marchelo Draga, PhD, es Profesor Investigador Asociado y profesor de Patología Vegetal Aplicada en la Universidad de Juba. Nació en Kajokeji, en el distrito del río Yei, en 1961. La educación inicial se impartió en las escuelas secundarias Kajokeji Junior y Loka. Obtuvo la licenciatura. Honores (protección de las plantas) en la Universidad de Alejandría (Egipto) en 1884.
