This book presents a descriptive analysis of Kurdish phonetics and phonology, specifically one of the dialects of Kurdish, namely Sorani (also known as Central Kurdish). It describes the phoneme inventory of Sorani Kurdish including the consonants, vowels and their allophones. In addition, it examines the syllable structure in Sorani Kurdish and the possible combinations of consonant segments within the syllable. It also demonstrates some of the phonological processes which are found in Sorani Kurdish.

Autorenporträt
I was born in 1987 in Erbil, Kurdistan-Iraq. I got my BA degree in English Language and Literature at Salahaddin University-Erbil in 2010 and received my MA degree with Distinction in Linguistics at Newcastle University, The UK in 2013. I am currently teaching at Salahaddin University-Erbil and also the co-founder of Collins College of English.
