"A virile tale about a tough-as-nails Blackfoot Indian... a roaming badass... a well-crafted, solid thriller." blueink REVIEW SOLOMON BULL is the son of a rebel who died in the seventies fighting for the American Indian Movement. He trains for an Arizona race called Desert Dog, designed to shred a man, while using monkeywrench tactics to unseat a corrupt senator. Pursued by a smoking hot agent from the Treasury's Terrorism and Financial Intelligence office, a doe-like prostitute with burn marks on her back and a sick story about a corrupt senator, and by Cal Barrett--Desert Dog organizer and brain behind Operation Guillotine, set to decapitate the US Government--Solomon is about to learn if he is a mere man, or heir to his father's revolution. Manhattan Review gives SOLOMON BULL five stars and says, "All of the plot-lines feed in and out of the narrative, keeping the reader rushing to the end, much like trying a controlled run to the bottom of a steep hill." Autorenporträt
I don't write noir. I write honest. The world is a dark place. My good characters are deeply flawed because even in the best of us, good has to be a street fighter to rise above our innate evil. My bad guys--they're pure. My bad guys will scare the hell out of you because I've seen evil, how tricky and careful and patient it is, and I know how to make an evil man stalk right out of the pages of a novel and into your grocery store. Into your bank. Into your sick uncle that everyone knows not to let near your little girl. I promise if you read Nothing Save the Bones Inside Her, the next scruffy skinny six foot four redneck you see with a wad of Copenhagen in his lip... you'll cross the street to avoid him, and look back afterward to see if he was hiding an ax. If you read Cold Quiet Country, you'll probably avoid the entire state of Wyoming, which is a shame because the evil people in Cold Quiet Country aren't just in Wyoming. They're your neighbors. That's why we read, right? Because stories answer a deep need to test our wits against extremes. Read mine. You'll be tested. How do you know you're not just buying garbage? Cold Quiet Country earned a starred review from Publishers Weekly and was selected for the Indie Next List. It's been published in France and has earned complimentary reviews from the top papers in France. My other books are self published so all you'll find in the way of reviews are those from normal people. Readers like you. Check them out. If you're looking for prose that was written with care, stories that speak honestly about the human condition, intricate plots, and extremely satisfying violence against those who have earned it, you and I are likely a match.
