The disaggregated pattern of development has varied impact on women members of every region, group, class and caste. In this backdrop, it is pertinent to examine the status of women across the levels of rural transformation consequent upon the technological and agricultural growth. Except a few studies conducted here and there, no serious study is done to explain this social phenomenon. An attempt is made in this book to study the women labour especially in agricultural field of Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh.

Dr.I.S.Kishore Mathew Arnold is an Academic Consultant in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.
