Climate change has been recognized globally as an ever increasing threat to our planet that is becoming impossible to ignore. The most obvious manifestation of climate change is the rising of average worldwide temperature, popularly termed as global warming. Most of the countries are facing the problems of melting of glaciers, rising of sea-level, changes in precipitation patterns, increase in diseases and mortality rate. Climatic conditions influence all aspects of our life and shape the physical, chemical, biological and socio-economic environment. Human activities are influenced to a significant extent by weather and climatic conditions and reversibly human value and cultural system also have great impact on environmental system. The economic and social implications of global climate change are the subject of intense national and international study in present day scenario. There are a number of research studies on physical and biological aspect of climate change. But very fewstudies have been done on social aspect of climate change. So, in my study I have wanted to assess and analyze different social dimension of climate change which are presented in detail in this book.

Mr. Sujit Sarkar completed his Master Degree in Agricultural Extension from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, India. He worked on the different social aspect of climate change. He was awarded with DST Inspire award, UGC NET and JRF, ICAR SRF and JRF, Ganga Singh Chauhan Memorial Award. HE also got First class First with Distinction in M.Sc.
