Bilingual English/Spanish beautiful full-color illustrated storybook for children of all ages! Stories of men and women who fought the tyranny and oppression of the Spanish aristocracy for the independence of Mexico. Bonnie Muth MacMillan, now deceased, was a prolific writer and artist of children's books and illustrations. As she cared for her family of four, she was able to work at home doing commercial illustrations and writing her books. She connected with the Latino community, spending considerable time in Mexico and among the locals in her neighborhood. Hence her interest in writing children's books benefiting the English-speaking Hispanics in her community. This book was her last attempt at producing an educational book on the history of Mexico for the purpose of keeping the Mexican heritage alive among the Latino children living in United States.

Before Bonnie was able to complete the book, she passed to her rest. Ann Leveque filled the gap by guiding us to the qualified people necessary for its publication, while at the same time working with the artist, Emily Ann Freiman to color the 10 remaining plates. With the Spanish translation added by Lena Escandon, the book was complete as planned by Bonnie, making it bilingual and more practical for a community learning to speak English or Spanish. This entire effort has been an undertaking of her family in her honor and as a remembrance.
