The elderly person's concern is still not considered a mainstream issue in India but one of those issues pertaining to social care and social welfare services. The elderly in India, particularly in poor, marginalized areas and communities, have never found their voice to speak about their needs and wants or demand their rights. During the course of this study, it was interesting how the respondents sometimes found it difficult to think about what needs they had even if they had mentioned about difficulties and problems only a few minutes back. This study has attempted to bring the concerns and needs of the elderly persons to the forefront so as to devise an intervention programme that would truly benefit and empower them and improve their overall quality of life in old age.
