The Singapore Institute of Management is Singapore's largest and most comprehensive provider of private tertiary education and professional training. It was founded by the Singapore Economic Development Board in 1964. SIM offers diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as a variety of executive education courses. SIM was the first educational and training institute in Asia to be awarded the PSB ISO 9002 and the first educational and training institute in Singapore to achieve the People Developer Standard. SIM received the Singapore Quality Class (SQC) for business excellence in 2002, the Singapore Quality Class for Private Education Organisations in 2003 and the CaseTrust for Education in 2005. In 2005, SIM University, Singapore's first privately-funded local university, was established.
