These trends make cost-based smart charging an increasingly interesting solution to reduce electricity costs for EV charging and match supply and demand on spot markets. In this book, the potential of cost-based charging is assessed for a specific case study in a Dutch neighborhood. An agent-based model is developed with the modelling platform GAMA. The model takes into account the influences of driving behaviour and spot market prices.
