Joyce Amadi est chercheur scientifique à l'Institut de recherche forestière du Nigeria, à Ibadan. Elle est titulaire d'un doctorat de l'université d'Ibadan, au Nigeria. Ses travaux de recherche portent sur la propagation, l'amélioration et la conservation des arbres fruitiers et des plantes grimpantes indigènes. Sa recherche doctorale porte sur le Plukenetia conophora (noyer). Elle est mariée et a des enfants.
