A theme such as sexism has to generate controversy, vivid exchanges of views, the most varied interpretations, as it is a continuously current topic. The condition of the women throughout history, the means by which it has been perceived, her role (with reference to our cultural, mental, psychological and civilization paradigms) still imply many challenges! The release of this volume comes in a natural way, as the Danubian Centre for Studies and Research of "Danubius" University of Galati, Romania has proposed to initiate a cycle of debates on subjects of the most diverse and at the same time to generate (through its members and collaborators) articles, studies and especially volumes, without which truly professional approach cannot fulfill its axiological purpose. The gathered texts analyze the women and the relations between the genders from a diachronic perspective, a historical area extremely wide, going through all ages, highlighting those elements really suggestive, meaningful, relevant for understanding the phenomenon.
