Clogged drainage systems are the major cause of pollution and frequent flooding in Metro cities especially during the rainy season. It is required to routinely monitor the condition of these drainage systems. The proposed system provides a way to monitor remotely drainage conditions and inform authorities of these conditions. Blockages in drainage systems are detected through monitoring of water levels inside the drainage. The design consists of water level sensors which read the water levels and the GSM module is used to sen information via wireless mode and back to a central server that monitors all drainages throughout the area. To overcome these problems, a wireless sensor network system that detects, identifies, and localizes major anomalies such as blockage and leakage that arise in steam flood and water flood pipelines in oilfields have been discussed.

Senthilrani concluiu o doutoramento na área de Engenharia de Informação e Comunicação na Universidade Anna Chennai em 2017. Iniciou a sua profissão como professora na Faculdade de Engenharia e Tecnologia do PSNA, Dindigul no ano de 2005. Em 2008, ingressou como professora na Faculdade de EEE no Velammal College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai.
