This Book represents the work titled "Sequence stratigraphy of the Palaeogene sediments of western India with special reference to Kachchh basin".The study investigates Paleogene sediments of Kachchh and Jaisalmer basin in Western India. These basins have extraordinary large-scale Paleogene outcrops throughout the basins. interestingly Oligocene sediments are exposed only in the Kachchh basin and Lower Indus Basin in Pakistan while they are completely absent in the Jaisalmer basin. Observations of the stratal geometries and the sedimentary facies along with sedimentological, Ichnological and Taphonomical aspects are combined to build sequence stratigraphic framework of retrograding/prograding sedimentary cycles. In this study total 31 section was logged, out of which 21 section are from Kachchh basin and 10 sections are from Jaisalmer basin. 50 thin sections were studied, and 250 trace fossil samples were analyzed for event stratigraphy inputs. Intra basinal correlations are presented through Sedimentological Ichnological and Taphonomical data set.
