World is changing faster than ever due to the rapid advancement in the use of technology. It is a great concern of the Tertiary Educational Institutions (TEI) about the quality of their graduates to cope with the challenges of the global market of the 21st century. Self-Assessment (SA) is a powerful means for a TEI to understand and improve its educational performance. It enables a TEI to find out the learning outcomes, the value of the outcomes to stakeholders and the effectiveness of processes in contributing to these outcomes. It also enables an organization to identify its strengths and weakness. Self-Assessment at program level has four main components viz., systematic data gathering, data analysis, reflective processes and decision-making for ongoing improvement. We conducted a rigorous study on different aspects of Mechanical Engineering program. The results are presented in details in this report. A peer reviewer's panel evaluated the findings. Their comments and recommendations are also presented. Since self-assessment is a first step for external accreditation, we believe that it will be helpful to those who are seeking external program recognition.
