The idea of the main characters of Jessica and Nathan from Secrets of Sandy Cove came to her when she was about fourteen, but the motivation to write their story did not flow from her until she was a married woman with children. To date, she has completed her second book, Sacrifice, which is a modern-day Romeo and Juliet/Mob story. Today, Melanie and her three children live in Ludowici, Georgia.
