This book studies critically the effect of the drama of" the second wave" on the drama of Rashad Rushdie showing the differences and similarities between the drama of Rushdie and the drama of" the second wave" In Britain. The introduction introduces the importance of the study giving an overview of Rushdie as a critic and dramatist. The first chapter gives an overview of the concept of" the second wave drama" referring to its main technical and thematic devices. It refers also to the main pioneers of" the second wave drama". The second chapter analyzes the technical devices used in the four plays under study showing whether they reflect an influence by the drama of" the second wave" or not. The third chapter stands on the main themes of the plays under study showing the relation between the ideas in the studied plays and the ideas discussed in the drama of" the second wave".
