Some new first row transition metal complexes of Schiff base obtained from Sulfonamide and Benzil were prepared and characterized on the basis of UV-Vis spectroscopy, IR spectral data, atomic absorption studies and conductometric measurements. The ligand as well as its complexes with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cr(III) were evaluated for their in-vitro antibacterial activity against some bacterial species, like E.coli, Mycobacterium Smegmatis and Pseubomans Aeuroginosa. Antibacterial activities were found to occur for Schiff base & lt; transition metal complexes.
