Migration is not a new phenomenon. Movement of man from one place to another has been taking place since the emergence of man on earth and since then its impact is being observed. Overseas migration has been regarded by social scientists as a factor of social change. Vital problems of human life are associated with it.The aim of our study was to examine the impact of migration on village people especially emphasizing the rural development. For this purpose I selected village Kahna Konta. It lies near District Toba Tek Singh. Due to large number of its male population migrating, the village is undergoing change in its living patterns and the socio economic sphere. To achieve objectives, different sociological and anthropological techniques were employed such as rapport building, key informants, socio economic census survey, and photography, in detail interviews, case studies, daily diary and field notes. Results of overseas migration prove very fruitful. It gives people the source of earning. Overseas migration is frequently seen as a way to pay off a debt. It is also a way to purchase land. The result of migration is that people start consuming the facilities of life.
