Autorenporträt
Helen Budzanoski Simyak - is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania where she received a B.S. Degree in Education with majors in English and Speech Therapy. She did her graduate studies and received her Reading Specialist Certification in the Masters Program, The Psychology of Reading, at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa. She also did graduate work in remedial reading at Penn State University's Continuing Education Program. She has worked extensively with students diagnosed with reading disabilities in Grades 2 through 12 and adults. For over 15 years, she served as a volunteer reading consultant to the Delaware County Adult Literacy Council and was active in the council's program development as a tutor-trainer, an evaluator and diagnostician. She has conducted workshops and seminars in Reading and Spelling via Phonics for tutor-trainers, administrators and other adult literacy personnel, at yearly conferences. She has also led training sessions sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Education throughout the state
